About

Maryrose‘s work is just as vibrant and colorful as she is. “Painting is self discovery. There isn’t always a laid out plan. Sometimes you have to start the process and the paint will lead the way”. Maryrose started this process in youth where she grew up in New York. She wasn’t just slapping paint on paper, she was going in the direction of where the paint took her. Her first landscape painting was in high school. She has worked in oil paint but over the years and recently started experimenting with acrylics. She has a Graphic Design Degree and in college experimented with abstract mono prints which is seen in her current work. Because her studio lacks a sink she started painting brushless and has used a palette knife and flexible plastic. This process has lead her to create larger abstract images. She loves color combinations and isn’t afraid to be bold. Maryrose has displayed and sold her work throughout the Finger Lakes over the past ten years in many art and winery galleries and in small cafe settings. Her studio is in Trumansburg, NY.
